Tulsans without social security numbers will once again not receive a stimulus check, and are not eligible for other protections such as unemployment benefits. Immigration status should not determine whether an individual receives essential support in this crisis.
Please consider supporting our neighbors who are excluded from federal relief by donating all or part of your stimulus check. 100% of funds (excluding processing fees) will go directly to individuals who are excluded and are facing financial hardship due to COVID-19. The organizations below, along with local leaders and institutions, will help distribute funds directly to those who need it. Give to local immigrant-serving nonprofits.
Many local organizations are committed to supporting our immigrant community. To give directly to these organizations, please use the links below.
Dream Alliance Oklahoma: Will use funds from the campaign to assist DACA renewal applicants with USCIS fees and support efforts to help local immigrant families.
Growing Together Mi Gente Fund: Donations will support 0% interest loans for small businesses and independent contractors in the Latinx community for whom there has been no aid made available.
New Sanctuary Network Tulsa: Funds will go towards community organizing, protesting ICE detention and deportation, and assisting individuals seeking release from detention.
The University of Tulsa Legal Clinic: Represents and advocates for noncitizens seeking lawful immigration status in the U.S. Donations will support applications for permanent residency and DACA renewals, as well as travel costs for visiting immigrant detainees and accompanying clients to their interviews in OKC or Dallas. Select “Other” as “Designation” then type in “Legal Clinic"
YWCA Tulsa: Donations will assist YWCA clients with legal costs and fees, including women and families who are domestic violence survivors and DACA renewal applicants. Select One-Time or Monthly Gift, then enter "Share My Check" in the campaign box.
